It’s very easy to install Go on Mac OS. Let’s get started.
1. Download Go Mac OS Installer Package
Go to the GoLang download page: https://golang.org/dl/ and download the Mac OS installer package.
To access the software go to the product page or visit our Support Home page. A √ below represents the corresponding Canon product being compatible with that version of Mac OS X. An X below represents the corresponding Canon product is not compatible with that version of Mac OS X. If you do not have OS 9 but would like to use our Windows versions whose links are above, make sure you have any Windows operating system—they all run our Windows railroad programs. Below, find links to Windows 7, Parallels, and Fusion. Either of the latter two will allow you to install a Windows operating system on your Mac.
2. Run the Installer Package to Install Go on Mac
Open the Mac OS installer package and follow the steps. There are no configurations and options to choose from, so it’s a straight forward installation.
3. Verifying Go Installation by checking its version
Launch the terminal and run the go version command and it should print the GoLang version.
Congratulations! GoLang has been successfully installed on your Mac OS.
Here I’ll explain how to add JAVA_HOME variable on your MacBook (Mac OS).
Set JAVA_HOME in .bash_profile
Open Launchpad and search for Terminal and launch it.
Edit ~/.bash_profile:
and add to the end:
${/usr/libexec/java_home} is a symlink for current Java.
Press Ctrl+X to exit and “Y” to save your changes.
Now we need to recompile .bash_profile to apply changes:
Mac OS also allows you to edit ~/.profile instead of ~/.bash_profile.
